Francesca Cavallin Mead, Principal Designer
Allied ASID, Associate IIDA
Design is my drive, my passion, and my job.
While enjoying the creative process to develop a concept, what I find most rewarding is executing the actual plan, commissioning custom designed pieces, and seeing old walls coming down and new tiles going up.
I believe in promoting the talent of local artisans and artists, and the individuality of their uniquely crafted masterpieces.
My design style is rooted in my Italian heritage and reflects an understated elegance infused with rustic and contemporary flavors. My work philosophy is based on open communication with my clients, and on the respect for their budget and pace.
Education & Experience
I received my Professional Certificate in Interior Design from UCLA Extension and my Master’s Degree in Interior Architecture from California Polytechnic University, Pomona.
I honed my business skills working with a prominent residential and commercial designer in Silverlake, California.
I have been working on residential projects in Pasadena,
Los Angeles, Burbank and Hollywood.
In September 2015, I was selected to be one of the judges for the 2015 ASID Design Excellence Award held by the North California chapter of the ASID.
I have recently been invited to be one of the designers
in the first edition of the Wattles Mansion showcase,
which will open to the public in Spring 2016.
My Italian upbringing constantly influences my life and work choices. I named my company “Sentire Design” because of its multiple meanings, all so relevant to the world of design.
“Sentire” means feeling, touching, smelling and hearing.
I cannot think of a more holistic way of defining design, than with a word that truly encompasses a comprehensive sensory experience.
